The essentials of playing Killer Sudoku
Take a moment with Killer Sudoku before moving to another game. Fill rows, columns and boxes with 1–9 once. Cage digits cannot repeat and must add to their clue. Look at what changes after your first action. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Use the example below to understand a decision.
This collection contains 8 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.
Build familiarity through play
After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Refer to the controls when needed.
Your objective
Fill rows, columns and boxes with 1–9 once. Cage digits cannot repeat and must add to their clue. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Check the rules when you are unsure.
Making your moves
- Select an editable cell.
- Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
- Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
- Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
- New puzzle selects another included puzzle.
Using the playing area
Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Use one clear input at a time.
Follow the example
A two-cell cage labelled 3 holds 1 and 2; a one-cell cage fixes its own value. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Consider the next action carefully.
Check this before moving on
A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Check the rule before repeating the action. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
